A Japanese company brings its own Sanfermines and Tomatina to the metaverse

-Users in ‘Parque España’ must avoid the bulls by throwing tomatoes at them as they flee.

Newtrace (a Japanese company) has moved a theme park inspired by Spain to the metaverse to recreate Sanfermines and La Tomatina in a Roblox minigame.

This innovation, called Shima Spain Village, has reproductions of landscapes such as Puerta del Sol, Plaza de Cibeles, and Castillo de Javier (among others).

As part of its partial arrival in the metaverse, the team has developed the game Running of the Bulls which is very similar to San Fermín, where users must avoid the bulls while they flee by throwing tomatoes at them (a particular integration of the famous Tomatina).

In addition, popular items can be obtained depending on the amount of digital currency, collected in the virtual world, such as the mythical churros.

This park, which opened in Roblox on December 20, has three large areas (the theme park itself, a hotel complex, and hot springs) and hosts parades with original characters inspired by Spanish folklore.

Its attractions include the ‘Iron Bull’ wagon experience (in which the cars are bulls ), a rotating attraction that has tomatoes instead of cups, a projection room built to resemble the Puerta del Cambrón (Toledo), the Los Pirineos and Gran Montserrat roller coasters, and a carousel inspired by Gaudí.
